How do you plan life after full-time work?
We’ve spent the past 18 months finding out really. We started by looking at what makes people happy after they leave full-time work. Recently, we were spurred on by the tremendous response we received when the article on Longevity Lessons from Okinawa and France went viral, not just in Australia but around the world. It gave us even more confidence that we were building things which people would find helpful and useful.
What we’ve discovered is that while the key ingredients for living a Full Time Life are much the same for everyone, the path people take to get there, and the time it takes them, is different every single time.
While our six-week workshops and half-day tasters are great for some people, they’re not for everyone. Some people don’t want to come along in person, or don’t have the time (or the money) to devote to a long course. They just want something they can work through themselves, at their own pace, with others to share the journey with and learn from and a bit of guidance and support when they need it.
That’s what Silver Mirror is about.
It starts with a quiz which helps you find out which areas of your life to focus on. Then we put in information, links to further reading, planning templates, practical activities and discussion points. We’ve poured the best of everything we’ve learned over the past 18 months into one place. Everything people need to plan the next stage of their lives. There’s tips for improving your brainpower, health, finances, purpose and community. It’s all in there.
There’s a lot there though. If you buy a copy of Silver Mirror we don’t recommend consuming it all in one sitting. Take your time. Read and think, make notes, go back to things. Go to our private Facebook group and chat to others going through the same things. Change your mind. You’ve got the rest of your life to get it right and, really, you need to enjoy the journey.
That’s one thing we certainly hear a lot from people who’ve created fulfilling, vibrant lives for themselves. It’s important to take time to breathe. To relax. To not rush. Look at what your options are. Try new things. Experiment. Go with the flow sometimes and see what happens. Get things wrong and learn from it. Feel scared, excited, nervous, thrilled and everything in-between.
We sincerely hope Silver Mirror helps you to do that.
